Allometric Individual Leaf Area Estimation in Chrysanthemum

چکیده
A model for estimating the area of individual leaves (LA) by employing their dimensions was developed chrysanthemum. Further hypotheses were tested: (a) LA estimation is improved considering blade length (Lb) rather than leaf (L), and (b) a reasonable can be attainable L in conjunction to shape trait, which cultivar dependent. For development, six cultivars employed (1500 total), while validation, an independent set nine utilized (1125 total). Several characteristics digitally assessed fully expanded included petiole length, L, width (W), perimeter, traits (aspect ratio, circularity, roundness, solidity), together with LA. more accurate both W, as compared single dimension. linear model, product W variable, provided most (R2 = 0.84). The validation indicated highly significant correlation between computed measured 0.88). Replacing Lb reasonably predicted 0.832) but at some expense accuracy. Contrary expectation, (or W) cultivar-specific trait generally led poor estimations.

accurate and nondestructive methods to determine individual leaf areas of plants are useful tools in physiological and agronomic research. a determination of the individual leaf area (la) of such species in brassicaceae family as red cabbage (brassica oleracea var. cappitata l. f. rabra), cabbage (brassica oleracea var. cappitata l. f. alba) and broccoli (brassica oleracea var. italica l.) ...
متن کاملEstimation of leaf area index and assessment of its allometric equations in oak forests: Northern Zagros, Iran
The focus of the present study is the estimation of leaf area index (LAI) and the assessment of allometric equations for predicting the leaf area of Lebanon oaks (Quercus libani Oliv.) in Iran’s northern Zagros forests. To that end, 50 oak trees were randomly selected and their biophysical parameters were measured. Then, on the basis of destructive sampling of the oak trees, their specific leaf...
متن کاملLeaf area estimation by a simple and non-destructive method
In this study, the relation between leaf area and its dimensions was estimated using a non-destructive method. This method is based on this fact that the leaf shape does not change during the growing season. In this method, leaf area during the growing season is estimated based on the dimensions of the smallest leaf in the initial stage of plant growth or at any growth stage by measuring the le...

The relationship between leaf area and diameter at breast height (d.b.h.) or sapwood area (AS) has been used to estimate stand leaf area or biomass of forest canopies. It has been suggested that intra-specifi c variations in the relationship between stand leaf area and d.b.h. or AS can introduce a systematic error in these estimates for younger and older stands unless additional parameters rela...
